Talent Engagement Lead
Pilot (YC W17) is looking for our first talent engagement lead to join a small team working to create a more open job market.
A bit about who we are
We are Pilot, a Y Combinator backed startup, with a small distributed team working from our office in Wroclaw, Poland, and remotely from San Francisco, Vienna, Portsmouth and Berlin.
Our mission is to create a more open worldwide job market. Today, we’re doing that by helping engineers and designers find well-paying full time contract work, and large enterprises scale technology teams using remote contractors.
Our customers are fast-growing companies with technology teams larger than 100+ that embraced remote staffing as a way to scale their operations.
What you will be working on:
You’ll be the first talent engagement lead on our talent team, working directly with one of our founders, who is also the leader of that team.
The talent team is responsible for growing and maintaining our pool of pre-vetted, contract engineers working remotely from all around the world.
You’ll be responsible for helping people find job opportunities that fit their expectations. Later you will guide them through the details of every offer so they can understand it better, get them to know the companies and answer all the questions they may have.
Simultaneously, you’ll help customers expand their technology teams by connecting them with amazing engineers from our network. You’ll assist customers in selecting the best candidates for the role and guide them through the selection process. You’ll also make sure that everyone involved has an amazing experience from start to finish.
We’re not pushy, we stay away from aggressive sales tactics and value an open, human approach to communication. Don’t worry, you won’t have to push non-ideal candidates just to fill the open position – its not in our style.
When you won’t be able to find the ideal candidate inside our network, you’ll help the team identify new potential candidates who would benefit from using our product. Talent team already speaks with lots of new candidates every day, so you don’t have to do everything alone.
– Excellent oral and written communication skills. You’ll be in contact with hundreds of people and also working with a distributed team. Top class communication skills are a must.
– Prior experience in technical recruitment. You need to understand the software development space. You’ll assist engineers and technical customers on daily basis and you must feel comfortable to talk about technology.
– Open and human approach to other people. You’ll be in touch with many contractors and customers constantly.
– Strong work ethics. You are reliable and hardworking. You don’t need to work under supervision.
–Resourceful. Matching people with job opportunities may not be always predictable. Often you’ll have to come up with non-standard approach to help customers fill their open positions.
–Experience and desire to work in distributed teams. You can work from our office in Wrocław, Poland, but expect your team mates to be all over the world.
We’d especially like to talk to you if:
–You have any experience with matching React, Node.js, Rails or QA engineers to open job positions.
–You write a code. It doesn’t have to be a commercial experience.
–You’re available to work within hours that cover business hours both in US and Europe. For example between 4am–12pm PST / 1pm–9pm BST
You have experience in sourcing technical candidates.
Unlimited vacation policy
Ability to work remotely from anywhere in the world
We try to hold all most of our team meetings between 7am–9am PST / 3pm–5pm BST / 11pm–1am JST to accommodate as many time zones as possible.
